Welcome to APNA Pakistan

Pakistan’s health indicators portray a dismal picture, and maternal and child mortality figures are among the highest in the region. One of the main reasons underlying these alarming statistics is multiple pregnancies in quick succession due to lack of access and low utilization of birth spacing and reproductive health services.

Given this context, UNFPA has initiated ‘APNA Pakistan’ – a campaign led by Contech International as implementing partner, and supported by a consortium comprising of Center for Communications Program (CCP) Pakistan, Communication Research Strategies (CRS) and Adetude (Pvt.) Ltd., focusing on the need for birth spacing and reproductive health services in Pakistan. Johns Hopkins University Center for Communications Program is providing strategic planning and technical support to the campaign.

APNA Pakistan seeks to raise political will among current and future governments of Pakistan, and raise awareness among communities about these issues. The campaign aims to channel this commitment into actions for better access and utilization of reproductive health services in Pakistan, leading to health and economic benefits for families and communities, which will lead to cumulative improvement in maternal and child health and national prosperity.
